I am a dedicated catholic, I feel impelled to give my testimony because one needs to witness to the truth where and when necessary. In 1981 I was very privileged to have had a vision of our lord Jesus Christ in a historic church that was dedicated to St.Peter and St.Paul, I saw our Lords face, so sad.And the crown of thorns on his head so clear was this vision i could see the string of thorns encircled many times and the thorns so clear as if one would be pricked by them, I was totally awestruck and as you can imagine this vision took me from being a christian with many question marks to a fervent believer, after the vision i went to my mothers home when i went in to her living room i told my mother of my wonderful vision and was overwhelmed to discover that my mother had a copy of the shroud of Turin on her wall.I immediately said to my mother, this is Jesus Christ, this is who i saw actually as he is. It is him. The holy shroud image is that of Jesus Christ, I can’t prove it but i would lay my life on this because it is true. I have since 1981 had many other experiences which have also confirmed to me the authenticity of the holy shroud and that it is of our Lord Jesus Christ. One day it will be recognised as true and venerated as the wonderful relic that it is, and i look forward to that day. Yours in Christ ... Fred

I love that when the Shroud is attacked in such a frontal attack, God just steps to one side and shows supporting facts.

We do not HAVE to believe in the shroud to be Catholic, but I cannot escape the fact that believing it sure helps!

I am glad for science. I am glad that science is used which helps dispel the myth that the Church wasn't using science to find truth throughout the ages.

My Mom Helen E. Foley was an artist who studied bone structure and several of her last paintings of Jesus, and Joseph, were based upon the bone structure she read in the Face of the Holy Shroud. She reasoned that since Jesus was accepted as Joseph's son, and them being both of the House of David, there would be a strong family resemblance.

"The thorn wounds on the nape of the neck also coincide perfectly with the bloodstains on the Shroud.

Dr. Alan Whanger applied the Polarized Image Overlay Technique to the sudarium, comparing it to the image and bloodstains on the Shroud. The frontal stains on the sudarium show seventy points of coincidence with the Shroud, and the rear side shows fifty".

All very interesting - thanks so much!

I thank you and Ms. Tania Mann for the longest, deepest and most serious review of my work; in fact I was waiting for a long time for such a review. I have minute comments: I wrote that the trunk of Rhamnus lycioides was used to make the knife of the plough (not the thorns).
I was not the one who found the similarity between the "Pantocrator" icon in St. Catherine Monastery, Sinai, and the face of the man of the Shroud - it was the work of Dr. Alan Whanger. Alan and Mary Whanger, who introduced me to the Shroud investigations are also the ones who found the high similarity of the blood stain morphology on the Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo. Thank you again.
